Kristin Damrow & Company’s summer performance intensive is for professional and pre-professional dancers seeking a new approach to contemporary technique and a fresh perspective on choreography. Class will be taught each morning by Artistic Director Kristin Damrow. We will play with physicality, power, skill, and detail. Lunch time will be a time to re-energize and participate in discussions about marketing, producing, choreographing, and surviving as an artist today. Afternoons will be spent with KDC repertory and building a brand new work with Kristin an other KDC Company members. This material will challenge your stamina, open up new choreographic tools, and take a closer look at the roots of character development through movement. Friday at 2pm we welcome friends, colleagues, and peers to join us for an afternoon showing at the Joe Goode Annex.

No application process needed to attend WORK. But, I am interested in seeing how you move. Once registered, please send a 1-3 min video of you dancing to firstname.lastname@example.org. The video can be footage of you in a performance, studio improvisation, or phrase work. I would very much encourage attending the full intensive because every day will build upon the previous day. With that being said, if you do have schedule conflicts and are still interested in participating, shoot me a message and lets try to work it out!
We have scholarships available towards the cost of the intensive. If you would like to apply, please submit a 1 minute video OR a 1 paragraph response introducing yourself and answering the question: What do you feel is lacking in your artistic/dance practice?
If you have to drop out of the intensive, you will receive 75% back on your tuition as long as we are notified before July 1st.
